Currency Exchange Rate

We require full payment on arrival. Please note that the actual total will be calculated by the hostel in its local currency, based on the currency exchange rate (if applicable) in effect at the time charging occurs. 

Cancellation Policy

We require a 50% deposit to confirm and guarantee any reservation. The remaining balance must be paid at the check-in time.

Any cancellations with less than 72-hours notice prior to the check-in time will not receive deposit refunds.

 Any request for a cancellation or modification must be submitted in writing. The same rules apply for both cancellations andmodifications.

Any no-shows will be charged 100% of the reservation total after24-hours from the check-in time if no notification is received by ElMisti Hostels.

We recommend that all guests purchase traveler’s insurance to protectthemselves from any unforeseen circumstances. In the case that youneed to make an insurance claim, El Misti Hostels will help you in anyway possible including providing documentation, etc.

*Cancelations for groups of 6 or more people must be made with atleast a full 2 (two) week’s notice. In this case, the group maycollect 100% of their deposit paid to El Misti (not including depositsmade through 3rd party sites). Any cancellations made withinsufficient notice will not have any portion of the deposit refunded.

*Cancelations for the New Years Package can only be made before Nov.30 and are 100% refundable (not including deposits made through 3rdparty sites). Any cancellations made after that date will not havedeposits refunded. 

*Cancelations for the Carnaval Package can only be made up until Dec.31, 100% reimbursable. Any cancellations made after that date will nothave deposits refunded.

No Shows

In the case of 'no shows', deposits will not be refunded and the full amount for the transfer will be charged to the customer. Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 72 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival time. 

El Misti Packages

* Cancellations for New Year's Packages:

Cancellations can be made before November 30th with a 100% refund of the total amount. After that date the amount that has been already paid will not be refunded.

* Cancellations for Carnival Packages: Cancellations can be made before December, 31st with a 100% refund of the total amount. After that date the amount that has been already paid will not be refunded. Even if the booking engine allows you to book less nights at the normal rate, for the Carnival and New Year's Packages, your booking will not be valid if you do not book the whole package. Bookings for New Year or Carnival must be for the whole period of the package, any booking that breaks into the New Year's or Carnival dates will be automatically canceled and the deposit amount not refunded. You will be immediately contacted about the payment from the whole package. 

Over-bookings

For reservations guaranteed with a 50% deposit or more at time of booking, rooms are held until hostel check-out time the day following arrival. In the event more guests arrive than can be accommodated due to hostel overbooking or an unforeseen circumstance, and the hostel is unable to hold rooms consistent with booking room hold policy, the hostel will attempt to accommodate guests, at its expense, at a comparable hostel in the area for the oversold night(s), and will pay for transportation to that hostel. 

Improvements

In our strive to improve and upgrade our facilities to satisfy all our guest, El Misti Hostel sometimes undergoes refurbishment work in some parts of the hostel. We do our best to ensure guests will not be affected by the renovations but please be aware of the latter possibility.
